Stop paying for clicks from job seekers, students and bargain hunters. Tick the types of searches you don't want, add your own words, and copy a ready-made negative keyword list into Google Ads.
Tick the search types that never become customers for your business.
Add locations you don't serve, products you don't sell, or competitor names.
Copy the list into Tools → Shared library → Negative keyword lists, and apply it to your campaigns.
A negative keyword stops your ad showing for searches that contain it. If you sell accounting services, adding "jobs" stops your ad appearing for "accounting jobs Kuala Lumpur", which brings job seekers, not clients. Every blocked irrelevant click is budget saved for a real lead.
Negative keywords don't match close variants, so add plurals separately ("job" and "jobs"). This list already does.
Not every word is negative for every business. "Course" is a bad search for a dentist but a great one for a training centre, and "cheap" may be fine if you compete on price. "Rental" is bad for a car dealer and perfect for a car rental company. Review the list before you apply it.
The best negatives come from your own data. In Google Ads, open Insights & reports → Search terms every week, and add anything irrelevant to your list. Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese searches are common in Malaysia and Singapore, so check those too if you target them.
